How long do you retain my coin mold once an order is placed?
Our factories keep molds on file for up to 2 years. If you need to reorder using the same mold in that time frame, simply give us the original order number and save!
Our factories aim to keep your coin's physical mold on file for up to 2 years. This way, if you need to place a reorder of the exact same coins, you don't have to worry about paying the custom mold fee again -- we can simply pull it from storage and run your next batch.
We say 2 years because molds can start to degrade after a year or two, losing some of the finer details due to repeated casts or the natural erosion of materials. Should your mold degrade past the point of usability within 2 years, we'll remake it at no cost when you place a new order.
However, we also have finite space to store these molds, which we offer as a courtesy to our clients. In this case, we operate chronologically—the oldest single-order molds left are discarded to make room for new ones. If it has been determined by the factory to be low-priority and was therefore tossed, OR it has been over 2 years since your last run of those coins, you may be financially responsible for a new mold fee when placing a reorder.
So how do you know when your mold is about to expire? Check the date of your last order! If it's been within 2 years, you're likely good to go! If you're still not sure, you can always reach out to our sales team for more information on specific orders if you have any further questions.
